Related Contacts against Listings
It would be great to be able to add:
Buyer's settlement agent
Seller's settlement agent
Finance broker
Tenant
Power of Attorney
As related contacts to a listing so that when you are setting reminders or tracks, for example, send copy of contract to Finance broker, you can add them as a related contact. Also just handy to be able to access their details from the main screen rather than having to dip into legal/contract tab or property record to get details.
We are excited to announce that you can now create custom contact relationship types for listings & properties! This lets you define relationships such as Tenant, Power of Attorney, Finance Broker, and so on.
You can read more about the feature in our blog post: https://www.rexsoftware.com/blog/create-your-own-custom-relationship-categories/

Please add this feature in, especially for properties that are tenanted, to be able to send email merges regarding OFI's etc. this would make my life so much easier and save so much time messing around going back and forth between the 'listing' and the 'property'.

◾Yes, you should be able to define additional relationship types in system values to encourage reuse (or some combination)
◾Should all contact details for all types appear on stockists – Not necessarily, a select option should be implemented to filter out the types not required
◾What effect do the extra relationship types have when selecting contact types for mass merge in these modules – should you be able to mass merge to these records at all?
Yes, currently when we mass merge for letters for owner, purchaser and their respective solicitors we have to record a seller's solicitor as listing owner, hence the merges are duplicated.
◾Should these same relationships be allowed at the property level? Yes, if applicable for the property as it may be useful to record this information prior to converting to a listing (i.e. a listing owner may already have an appointed solicitor / broker or a tenant may already reside at the property
◾If the relationships are allowed at the property level, how should they be archived when ownership of the property is transfered at point of sale (e.g. when a listing is currently converted, property relationships are updated as follows: current owner on listing becomes past owner on property, purchaser on listing becomes new owner on property) - Currently in our process we remove the additional related contacts (duplicates as a seller's solicitor is recorded as the only option of listing owner etc.) prior to marking the listing sold. A useful implementation would be to include the options to tick or untick in the "mark as sold" pop up window. -

What would the effect of mortgagee sales be on correspondence that is sent etc?
Is it mainly for:
1. So contact details are easy to find
2. So related contacts are easy to pick (for singular mail merge?) -

Please look at implementing this - would be very helpful as we deal with a high volume of mortgagee sales

Is this still being looked a given the votes and the time it has been listed?

We would love to see this happen! One our office use regularly is "Executor".

We would love to see your ideas implemented Michael. Especially the Tenant info in the listing page. It doesn't make any sense that you put the tenant details in the property page as a related contact and then can't see that contact when you change it to a listing.

I have a suggestion instead of the Vendors solicitor/conveyancer appearing in the legal tab under the listing to be able to add them to the RHS as 'Vendors solcitor/conveyancer' where the Vendor is added as the 'owner'. Also when a property is sold to be able to add purchasers solicitor/conveyancer to the RHS where the buyer will be listed as the 'purchaser' instead of the solicitor/conveyancer just being located in the contract. This would be beneficial because you would easily be able to see contact number for the solcitors/conveyancers instead of having to go into the legal tab or contract, see who the company is then search them. It would save a lot of time.

We had an issue today where a new sales person is referring back to the manual file as they were unable to figure out where the info was for the tenants. Still think this is an idea that should be considered :-)

Hi Everyone,
We didn't receive much feedback on this suggestion following our last comment. Just following up again here - does anyone have anything to add in relation to below:
Our only concern with this is how it is likely to affect BULK mail merge.
We could possibly create a relationship type of "Other" and let you type what you want (similar to contacts) however, when you go to send a bulk mail merge (from the list view), there won't be any way to select this group of people.
Have a think on this and come back to us and let us know if you think this might be an issue... it could possibly not be, but it's our main concern at this stage.

This keeps getting requested and we'd like to see some movement on it - it is a major thing and PM and sales working together is a harmonious office - tenant's must be able to be linked to the listing for all of the reasons below - this needs to be given priority as other programs do it seamlessly.

Totally agree with this. We are currently entering the buyer and seller solicitors as related contacts (buyer for buyers solicitor and seller for sellers solicitor) so we can view as much information in one place. If they are not listed here you have to go to the legal tab to view vendors solicitor details and the contract for buyers solicitor details. By adding them as a related contact we can also select them for email merges. This however has effects other areas of Rex so it would be great if the drop down for related contacts could include vendors solicitor buyers solicitor, not just owner, buyer, tenant.

We deal in Commercial Real Estate and our property contacts can be labelled from anything from Property Owners = "Landlord" "Property Manager" or just plain "Property Contact" as opposed to the only other option of "Tenant".

We do need to have the solicitors details given more priority within all listings since we need to communicate with them regularly. Also when we Merge Letters within a listing, it would be great if the both the solicitors contacts are automatically an option to choose from (not just the Vendor & Buyer contacts).

This would be extremely handy considering the amount of times we contact solicitors/conveyancers on a constant basis for each listing. Otherwise we need to leave the listing to find their contact details & then go back into the listing or we need to go & retrieve the manual hard copy of the file out which is very old school. Solicitors contact are a big part of our job since we're the agents in between the clients & the solicitors.

Tenant details linked to current listings..
It would be helpful to have this information showing on the Listed Property screen as it would provide users with a complete picture of the property and not have to guess or go into another screen to verify if the property is owner/occupied or tenanted. Useful information for both administration and also sales team members. -

I think this would be fantastic - it would then save you going into the legal button to find the information out.
I guess you could also do this by a tag.g

It would be great if the vendors solicitor could be related and also the purchasers solicitor

Add 'solicitor' to the drop down box under related contacts
