Rex Application for Tablet and Phone Devices
We understand many of you are wanting Rex to be fully mobile/tablet compatible.
Please vote and comment on exactly what feature(s) you would find most useful while on the road. Please keep in mind that in order to provide a nice/ simple mobile experience we will not be able to transfer every single feature of Rex to the phone. As such we'd like a comment from you on what you think the most basic requirement of the application would be.
e.g. "The ability to search across, and easily call any contact in Rex"
We'll be watching the ticket closely over the next couple of months and potentially reaching out to some users.
After 12 months of research, design, development and testing, Pocket (the Rex mobile app) is now available for iOS and Android. For more info and links to download the app head to http://pocketbyrex.com.

We definately need better mobile platform for REX

@Shady Attia: Thanks for your comments. Re this one: "if a contact is being entered for the first time using Homepass but already exists in Rex, it doubles up in Rex" - This shouldn't be the case, if you are experiencing this, it would be great if you could log a support ticket.

I also agree with the comments below especially about recording appraisal information. One other major thing that will help us out alot is to be able to enter all the information while Offline as a few of our guys do not have sims in their ipads. I believe we will get more appraisals in our system then we are currently if it was a simple tick & flick type thing the sales agent can do on the go and while they are at the property. The desktop site is great however our older sales guys still struggle with it and choose not to use it even though we have explained the benefits.

Couldn't agree more with all the comments here. The desktop site is fantastic from an admin perspective which is great for admin and support staff sitting in an office, not real estate agents who rely on the ability to access data, information, contacts and so on when we are on the go. The 3 core features that would be most useful in the app would be:
- to capture buyer's contact at OFIs without doubling up in Rex's database if they already exist (if a contact is being entered for the first time using Homepass but already exists in Rex, it doubles up in Rex)
- be able to input appraisal data ergonomically on the fly when you are meeting with the prospect. (At the moment using Notes app on iPhone to record info till I'm back in front of a laptop, Rex website not mobile friendly and slow response rate)
- OFI times, Reminders and Tracks should be pop up notifications that you can easily access, update and load.
It would also make sense that new information that is entered from the app can be temporary stored locally on the app till its in the "cloud" The reason for this is eliminate loss of data entered from your phone in an area with weak or no cellphone coverage and becoming "lost" as you drive back to the office / wi-fi connection.

Thank you Rex, mobility across platforms is very important these days.
I think that access to all contact and property information is vital. We are often on the road after hours and need to contact a vendor to get a viewing, how to get to a property but more importantly all the relevant info for property so that we can answer questions on the spot if we don't know the answer. As per comments below, information pertaining to an appraisal is also important. It demonstrates to potential clients that we are technically enabled. -

We agree, this is a 'must' needed feature.. something we thought was already available when joining REX, but it's not. Our sales team needs to access occupants (vendor & tenant) contact info and inspection info while on the road. At the moment we can't access this info quick enough from an iPhone / smartphone. Even on an iPad (which is usable), it is time consuming and hard to access / navigate to the needed info.

Home pass is good but locked on had a killer open home app - didn't have to be connected to Internet, you could sync contacts and properties to the app prior to hitting opens and then add / find buyers as you entered them

Appraisal functionality
Being able to rock up to an appraisal with your iPhone or iPad and use it to select all relevant features as you whizz round the home- I guess similar to a PM inspection app in That you could drop down number of beds baths etc and also tick box features - as found in the Rex property details that then sync to web - aircon, pool, outdoor entertaining, workshop etc -

One of the reasons we changed to rex was due to the app being developed.
Our old CRM allowed us to full access of the system via apple devices. This included adding both private and open inspections. We believe this is crucial to improving data entry into the system.
The app should allow user to access and update REX from any mobile device. We need this app asap and look forward to the release date being set. -

I would be happy being able to login to Rex from my Android even if it was a basic mobile version. As it stands, I have a fancy Android and can't even get to the login page.
As for an Android/iPhone app, I need the ability to access information on each property my company has listed, because during viewings etc people ask questions and I like to refer to my phone for the answer if I don't know if off the top of my head. That would be my primary request. Secondary would be to access contact details. I do not want my real estate contacts synced into my Android phonebook, I want them separate and accessible via a Rex app or mobile friendly website.
This is the whole reason my company changed to Rex - to be up to date with technology. But I find myself missing the last software we used which had an Android app, even tho the software was old and clunky. -

I would love if we can email documents uploaded in Rex, to the contacts in Rex (Example - Disclosure statement, or copy of contracts)
The document upload in homepass is not integrated with the Rex document upload, so its causing double handling. -

An app which will export open home register to contacts. Ability to call and email.

It would be great if REX was an app we could have on our iPad (or iPhone) so we can enter information and retrieve contacts. As at the moment I need to put all contacts in my mobile phone as well as in REX. That is why I suggested that the Homepass App be set up so we could enter a persons contact details without necessarily attaching them to a property

More so not an app, but better responsive technology or a mobile website version. With slightly more mobile friendly interface, ability to click phone numbers and emails to make a call and or email.
Mainly to see your task list for the day on the go, search contacts and make phone calls and update notes easily.

An easy to fill out appraisal form at initial inpsection which then mergers over to the Actual property on rex. Bed bath car features etc all on one screen to allow the agent to focus on the client and easily fill in via dropdown menus or write in the fields. Clarify clients contact details etc also should be on this page. Will work well if using a tablet at the initial inspection.
