Linking surburbs in the match profile into areas
I'm sure in other areas of NZ it must be just as much time wasting as it is in Christchurch to list all the suburbs each time you set up a match for properties. Could there be a way of making our own areas or REX could set them up, for example, East and West of Christchurch as some people don't want to live on the East due to Earthquake damage or some people not caring where they live in the city, it is a lot of suburbs to list each time you are setting up a match. Creating a match should be a quick thing to do not taking up to an hour for one person's match.

Following on from Rex Software's comment:
* I really love the idea of a 'Surrounding Suburbs' checkbox, that would be fantastic.
* A radius search would be good too.
* Mass action buyer matching for similar buyers also sounds great. My own suggestion, which I was going to create in a separate submission before I saw this one from Alex, is having the regions/states added into the suburb options.
For example, if I have an investor who is looking for a property and really doesn't care which suburb or city it's in, it would be amazing to be able to add 'Northland Region' or 'Auckland Region' in the suburb fields so that they're notified whenever a property that matches their criteria in those regions is listed.

We are a large rural agency predominantly selling farms. We sometimes set up matches using postcodes that might include 30 postcodes (literally hundreds of localities). It would be useful to be able to create 'sets' of localities that you could then easily select when needed. Alternatively to be able to choose a radius around a particular location could also work.

Hi guys, we had an excellent idea through Rexperts:
BUYER MATCHING: It's very time consuming to add buyer match profiles to all the buyers you meet on the weekend. A couple of suggestions in the feedback post are:
Mass action - buyer matching for similar buyers that all are looking in the same areas (great for after a home open where buyers typically look in a 4-5 suburb stretch of suburbs)
Pre-saved areas or bunches of suburbs (eg. eastern suburbs or coastal suburbs etc) instead of typing each one manually
A pop up map that you can click the suburbs you want to save typing each one manually
A surrounding suburbs tick box like most of the real estate portals so that the buyer match isn't so rigid in what it will email to someone.
A radius search - I often have buyers say, I don't care what suburb but I want to be within 5km of the city or 5km from the beach at this area. So you just need to set the middle suburb and select a radius
Another one I haven't listed in there but just thought of - RP DATA does a territory search where you draw a shape on a map and any properties within that shape are part of a territory. Great for buyers that want to only be notified of listings within a small pocket of a suburb or along the coast for a 20km distance but don't want anything more than 2 houses back from the beach or they only want to live in the new pocket of a suburb. Surrounding houses near a park etc. -

Oh also, a bulk buyer match option. Theres certain suburbs in our area that you'll meet a very similar demographic every time and they almost always say "we would like to live in one of these 6 suburbs and want to stay under $550k". It would be a lot easier to be able to bulk add the same stuff to all the buyers you've met at the home open. It's a lot easier to edit a buyer match profile when you're on the phone with them for a small tweak on price, suburbs, bed/bath etc then it is to create a new profile each time.

I've been thinking about this a lot too. Ideally I'd like to be able to have a map open and click all the suburbs you want to add because of how quick that would be. A "surrounding suburbs" option would be great too because many people say, I just want to live somewhere around this suburb. A radius match would be great for others (eg. if someone wants to live anywhere within 5km of the CBD) you just choose the distance and the location for the centre point and any suburbs that are within that space are added.
