Welcome Rex Users!

Let us know what you really want out of the system you use in your businesses every day!

Please include as much detail as possible about what the feature is and how the feature would make your life easier – this will encourage other rex users to vote for your request rather than creating a duplicate idea. The more votes you get the quicker your idea will come to our attention :)

How it works:

  • You can add as many new ideas here as you like but each new idea that you add will cost you one of your votes.
  • You have ten votes to use. You can distribute these however you like with a maximum of 3 on any single item. You can remove a vote if you change your mind and put it elsewhere.
  • If you have voted on an item that is then implemented, you will get those votes back to use again.

  1. Be able to email someone without adding them as a contact.

    Some people I don't want in as contacts. Stop trying to force workflow as it sucks.

    Hi Lawrence,
    Rex is a CRM which should be used to track all correspondence, because of this, your suggestion is not something we’re looking to implement into Rex.
    If you would like to send untracked emails, you can send them directly from your work email.

  2. More Land subcategories like Industrial and Commercial

    Currently the only option is 'Residential Land' under subcategories, can this be changed to include Industrial and Commercial land options,

    Hi Martin,
    We are unfortunately unable to create custom listing types or sub-categories because they are pre determined by the portals (REA, Domain etc).

    I suggest maybe contacting the portals directly to discuss additional options with them.

  3. Multi category match

    In our area buyers often request a variety of criteria options (eg 2 - 50 acres with OR without a house) which means that properties from residential, land or rural categories may meet their requirements. At present a match profile can only be made with one property type meaning that an agent may have to send multiple emails to a buyer. Is it possible to allow other property types to be added in to the match profile, to cover all categories required, so that only one email needs to be sent and received?

    Thanks for the great suggestion. Unfortunately due to technical restrictions resulting from the fact that different listing categories (and therefore match categories) support different attributes, we can’t offer a mix in the same profile. The best work around would be to create multiple profiles (one for each category)

  4. All Emails to go thru REX

    Ability to use REX for all incoming and outgoing EMAILS. This would enable the company to force staff to have rex open instead of outlook. Also enable company to manage incoming and outgoing email communication thru the CRM.

    Hi andy, while we love seeing agencies use rex in new and exciting ways, we’re definitely not an email client and would recommend you use tools that have been specially developed for the job!! There are a lot of tasks and small interactions you have with your email client that make it friendly that you may not notice on a day to day basis.

    In terms of ensuring agents are using the product – it’s best to mandate this via written policies within your office if it’s something you want to encourage.

  5. Sync or pull data from Mozilla Thunderbird.

    It would be great to have Thunderbird emails come up in Rex. A plugin like SuiteCrm implements would be fantastic.

    Hi Lawrence, while we appreciate the feedback, email client specific plugins aren’t something we’re looking to implement in the near future.

    If you’re looking to get more emails into Rex, you might want to consider using the email dropbox functionality and / or setting up some automated forwarding rules to your email dropbox address either through your email client or at your mail server software level.

  7. Reminder email sent when listing is due to expire

    It would be ideal if a reminder email could be automatically sent from REX to the listing agent 5 days out from the listing's expiry date to prompt them to have the agency extended or renewed before the current agreement expires.

    Thanks for your suggestion! Agents should be checking their Rex dashboards on a daily basis to keep up to date with expiring authorities etc. Due to this, we’re not currently looking to include what you described in the system. We certainly value your feedback however – so if you have any more suggestions feel free to send them through.

  8. Modify templates

    The ability to modify or delete templates, tracks, mail merges etc that come with the system. Rather than duplicating the template, which creates clutter some templates only need minor modification to suit our business style.

    Hi there, there is a reason these work the way that they do – it allows us to push updates to our templates out.

    Once you have duplicated the template, simply “hide” our template via the action menu available in the admin area and they will no longer appear in your system. For more info on this please contact our support team.

    Thanks for the suggestion; it’s a great idea but unfortunately we’ll have to close this one as we don’t believe it’s technically possible. Characters are of varying widths, so two different blocks of text take up a differing amount of space – even if they’re both the same letter count. Letting you select a maximum letter count is possible, but you could still get text “overflowing” the allocated space, so it wouldn’t really solve the issue.

  10. ​Amend trust transactions (rather than having to void & redo them)

    We should be able to edit trust transactions up until the time they are reconciled in Rex.
    Due to the different bank clearing timeframes, sometimes dates money was paid or received will change on the bank statement. Rather than having to reverse and then re-enter this it would be great if we could edit the date instead so that our bank transactions and Rex transactions are mirrored.

    After checking with a number of auditors on this matter and referring to various legislation we’ve confirmed that this wouldn’t be particularly legal. You may instead want to vote for the “hide reversed transaction” feature (suggested here https://rexsoftware.uservoice.com/forums/170987-feature-requests/suggestions/10200978-hide-feature-for-reversed-trust-transactions) and / or suggest another feature that might make the “correction” process a simpler workflow.

  11. Internally message other agents

    The ability to message other staff within REX would be used a lot - that way, a salesperson could let admin know that something specific has happened that they need to be aware of - great for keeping rental BDM's talking to salespeople and for the admin/sales conduit to be strong. It's more a message, not assigning a task or track. And it keeps all messages in REX, rather than back to email

    Thank you for the suggestion. We understand how this might assist communication flows within your business. However the complexity and immense size of a project like this is not something which we currently have the appetite for. We recommend using a dedicated messaging tool like Slack.

  13. eBrochure Link

    It would be great if the eBrochure link can customised to either your own Agency website, a REA or Domain site.

    Unfortunately this request doesn’t line up with the way the feature works.

    Emails etc. advertising a listing can be sent at any time and must have a valid link at the time they are constructed. In order for this feature to work we’d need to disallow any emails (match, manual, newsletters) from being sent until the listing had gone up, response been (successfully parsed etc). This conflicts with the way many of our users run their businesses.

    In addition, in the event that there are multiple REA feeds on the one listing, we’d have confusion about what the correct link to use is.

    If concern is exposing more listings / agency profile and you’d like to promote REA rather than your own website, if you want, it is possible for you to modify the default ebrochure format to link out to your agency profile on REA.

  14. Add in Dormant Status to Hot Warm Cold ranking

    We need a new "dormant" status which reflects contacts that are in the database and should receive passive marketing information but should not be actively marketed to / contacted by sales people.

    This will help by discerning between unresponsive leads and long term cold leads which must be followed up.

    This status reflects a comfortable middle ground between a "DNC" status and a "Cold" contact.

    Thank you for the suggestion. We already have the functionality to assess how dormant interest is on a contact. In addition to the normal interest level, we have a “last contact date” field which can be used to infer how engaged a contact is. We believe it is counter-intuitive to add another interest level which would introduce more manual data entry and data management for our clients.

    Hi all, match alerts are a feature designed to keep active purchasers informed about new stock and price movements in stock they are interested in on a continued basis.

    Newsletters are there to inform them about less time sensitive information. Unfortunately, at this stage, moving these kinds of details to match alerts is not something we’ll be looking at.

  16. Ability to add external Selling Agents

    We have external Sales Consultants who are non Rex users and the ability to add these names as the Selling Agents would be great.

  17. Option to use photos already loaded when re-listing a property

    It would be great if you could have the option to use the photos already attached to the property when you go to relist it. This would be really helpful when listing rental properties in particular as you use the same photos most of the time.

  18. MORE THAN ONE ACCEPTED CONTRACT

    In a lot of instances you will have more than one party with an accepted offer on a property and they will enter a contract race.
    We need the ability in the system to have more than one offer in acceptance and also to have a live commission sheet for each.
    We only mark the offer as fallen once the winner goes unconditional.

    Hi there,

    This isn’t something we’re likely to support in the near future.

    You could theoretically achieve this currently by performing the following steps:
    1. Mark the currently active contract as fallen.
    2. Mark the backup contract as accepted (not backup).
    3. Create a commission worksheet for the backup contract.
    4. Do the reverse of steps 1 and 2 (reactive the orignial contract).

    The steps above allow you to create a commission worksheet for your backup contract which can then be accessed and modified using the “View Past Worksheets” button on the commission screen.

  19. Deleting Contracts

    When changing over to REX and adding all of our properties, and sales there were some duplicate contracts added when trying to get used to the program, now we have had to mark those as fallen contracts which display on our reporting and don't reflect an accurate report. We would like the ability to delete the irrelevant/duplicate contracts
