Feature Requests

Welcome Rex Users!

Let us know what you really want out of the system you use in your businesses every day!

Please include as much detail as possible about what the feature is and how the feature would make your life easier – this will encourage other rex users to vote for your request rather than creating a duplicate idea. The more votes you get the quicker your idea will come to our attention :)

How it works:

  • You can add as many new ideas here as you like but each new idea that you add will cost you one of your votes.
  • You have ten votes to use. You can distribute these however you like with a maximum of 3 on any single item. You can remove a vote if you change your mind and put it elsewhere.
  • If you have voted on an item that is then implemented, you will get those votes back to use again.

Remember – no request is too small :)

Happy voting!

  1. Add in Dormant Status to Hot Warm Cold ranking

We need a new "dormant" status which reflects contacts that are in the database and should receive passive marketing information but should not be actively marketed to / contacted by sales people.

This will help by discerning between unresponsive leads and long term cold leads which must be followed up.

This status reflects a comfortable middle ground between a "DNC" status and a "Cold" contact.

Thank you for the suggestion. We already have the functionality to assess how dormant interest is on a contact. In addition to the normal interest level, we have a “last contact date” field which can be used to infer how engaged a contact is. We believe it is counter-intuitive to add another interest level which would introduce more manual data entry and data management for our clients.

Thank you for the suggestion. While we understand how much easier this would make the process for you and any attendees, it is technically impossible. The QLD government does not allow for third-party integrations (like us) with its check-in app.

  3. Registering Calls through POCKET

Would be ideal that when a call comes in Pocket already recognises this. and the call itself was noted in the clients stream in REX. Incoming call received or outgoing call. At the end of the call also would be ideal if you could enter a note on what the call was about then just press save and it will attach tonthat client.

moving on from this would to recognise communication / emails sent to this client through gmail or outlook also and automatically add to the clients stream.

We’d love to be able to implement this but unfortunately iOS puts a restriction on us being able to do anything beyond identify the call – our app doesn’t even get notified a call is happening for security and privacy reasons – behind the scenes we populate an iOS database and it uses that to identify the incoming call without ever notifying our app a call happened.

Regarding your suggestion on emails, setup autoforwarding of emails to your personal email Dropbox address.

If anything changes on this front, we will definitely revisit but at this stage there’s nothing we can do.

  4. Sort contacts by Address

Some people find it easier to remember addresses better than a contact's name. It would be good to have the option to view the address where the contacts live (plus sorting)

Unfortunately the address listed against the contacts is a freeform text field. If this was to be sorted it would be sorted by the first characters in the field – most likely the street number (and or anything appearing before the address) which wouldn’t lead to the results you would expect.

  5. Record Permalink - Difficult to select

Currently when you click permalink it is difficult to select the "record permalink" and copy.

When you click in to the box there is no cursor.

If you click and hold down to select by the time you get to the end of the link it is no longer selected. You then need to click and select again backwards.

The only workaround is to click (no visual representation it worked) then click ctrl-A. Its not intuitive.

There should be another method to copy the contents of this box.

Hi all, your best bet on this one is to double click the link which will select the contents of the entire field. Due to browser security restrictions around placing things on your clipboard and the fairly basic work around mentioned here, this isn’t likely to be something we’ll support.

  6. Click email address to open default mail client

Please make it so that when I click an email address on a contact record my default mail client opens (in a new window). In my case, that's G Suite (Gmail) but it would also work for outlook.

Until then, If I want to send an email outside of REX, I have to click the email address, select it, copy it, go back to gmail, click new email, then paste it.

  7. Messages to be sinked from your phone automatically

When you send a message to your contact via the pocket app, once your contact replies it should automatically upload into you pocket app or your data

  8. Be able to email someone without adding them as a contact.

Some people I don't want in as contacts. Stop trying to force workflow as it sucks.

    Hi Lawrence,
Rex is a CRM which should be used to track all correspondence, because of this, your suggestion is not something we’re looking to implement into Rex.
If you would like to send untracked emails, you can send them directly from your work email.

  9. View more than 100 contacts at a time in list view

Need the ability to view more than 100 contacts at a time in the list view of Rex. 1000 contacts will be much more helpful.

Thanks for your suggestion! We’re not currently looking to include what you described, due to the loading time it would take to generate a list of this many records. We certainly value your feedback however – so if you have any more suggestions feel free to send them through.

  10. Rex - tags to limit communication with professional contacts

REX - Can there be a legal tag that stops the names and details its attached to from being sent in a bulk email? So the contact tagged does not link to external sites (eg ActivePipe). This would mean we are not spamming the people that we have limited but professional contact with.

    @Amanda:

Re active pipe, you’ll need to contact Active Pipe. I believe there is some tag that they respect to this effect.

Re Rex – users shouldn’t be included in bulk emails (i.e. newsletters) unless they’re on mailing lists.

If you want them opted out of all correspondence, use the Do not contact flag.
